ZX Spectrum ROM

ZX ROM cartridges allowed for the instant loading of games but were relatively expensive compared to the widely used cassette format. Consequently they sold poorly and were discontinued in December 1983 after only 10 releases. The red rubber 'boot' on the ZX ROM cartridge is supposed to protect the contacts when not in use.
